Health:
Everyone knows that the Feral Pigeon carries a number of diseases that can be harmful to humans. Examples are: E-Coli, Salmonella, Fungal Skin Disease and Ornithosis.
Safety:
Pigeon Droppings when wet, can be very slippery and must be dealt with. It’s also very unsightly and the odours from it can be offensive. Areas for concern include: walkways, fire escapes, exit routes and public pavements. These areas can cause serious injury if covered in Pigeon Droppings.
Solution: Jet Wash on a regular basis and keep it clean!
Damage:
The acid found in their droppings can be very damaging to the building structure and the aggressive chemicals can penetrate into the stonework and attack it irreversibly. This could result in expensive restoration work having to be carried out.

Solution: Proof roosting areas and keep it clean!
There are 3 pressures relating to the severity of the problem:
High Pressure:
These are areas that are used at night for roosting/nesting. Buildings like High Rise Flats, Office Blocks, Balconies, under ground car parks and areas that are hidden from the wind are all favourite roosting sites. They will always come back to these areas unless action is taken to stop this.
Solution: The installation of Netting, Spiking, and Pin & Wire are a few ways to stop the birds from returning.
Medium Pressure:
These areas are used for perching during the day and close to food sources. Shops, Cafes, Restaurants etc are prime areas.
Solution: Spiking, Pin & Wire above shops cannot only stop the pigeons but also the risk of injury from there droppings when wet.
Low Pressure:
These areas are used occasionally and are usually exposed areas.
Solution: Light weight anti roosting spikes.
